Gully Rowdy Movie Review
Gully Rowdy 2021 Indie film is directed by G. Nageswara Reddy and written by Bhanu Bhogavarapu(story), Kona Venkat(screenplay), and Nandu R.K.(dialogue). Starring Sundeep Kishan, Bobby Simha, Neha Hariraj Shetty, Viva Harsha, Vennela Kishore, Rajendra Prasad, and Posani Krishna Murali.
A young man attempts to balance a new love interest with the expectations of his friends, who expect him to carry on his rowdy ways.
So let’s talk about the things that I liked and didn’t like about this movie. Let’s start with the things I liked about the movie.
First of all, Rajendra Prasad is fun to watch in this film. As you know, there is never a dull moment whenever Rajendra Prasad is in the picture. In this film too, he generates good comedy as head constable Patta Pagalu. All his scenes with his family have been well executed. Neha Shetty is also neat as the female lead. thanks to Rajendra Prasad’s comedy.
The other cast also was fine. Bobby Simha was decent in his role and so was Posani. Vennela Kishore evoked fun in his role. The kidnapping comedy in the first half was showcased well. The actor who played the main villain’s son was also effective.
Finally, Sundeep Kishan again impresses. He is an effortless actor who does well in his role. He has an amazing screen presence in the film and holds the proceedings together.
Now let’s talk about the things that I didn’t like or saw that could be handled better in this film.
The movie starts off in a breezy manner and the director does a good job of setting things up. But the second half of the film drags, and it feels like the director fails to generate enough drama.
Bobby Simha’s entry is interesting, but his character is hyped for no reason. I think the way he interrogates the case is stretched and looks illogical.
Sundeep Kishan is hardly present in the second half and because of this, there is a feeling of something missing in the film. In a way, the comedy works well, scenes-wise, but if you put them in order and watch them according to the script, things feel dragged.
What about the music and other technical aspects in this film. We are starting with the music which was good and so was the BGM. Vizag and its surroundings are showcased beautifully by the camera department. The editing is bad in the second half as the climax is dragged for no reason.
Director Nageswara Reddy’s films are high on comedy. This film also has passable comedy, but the screenplay lacks impact. Key scenes are let down by silly narration. If the second half would have been more crisp, things would have been different.
Gully Rowdy is a typical comedy caper with a decent plot. The comedy in both halves is good but the rest of the factors like plot and script take a back seat. If you are someone who ignores routine story and wants to have a good time pass, give this film a shot. The rest can look for something else.
So with all of that being said, I am going to give Gully Rowdy film a B-Minus.
Guys thank you so much as always for reading the review of Gully Rowdy 2021 film. See you next time.
